Playland is a little more sophisticated and the production denser but not by much. That 1979 first album was distinguished by a sparse simplicity and an effective primitiveness. It probably says more about the Garage than Supermoon but it’s hard to listen to its Playland EP and not think of The Cure’s Three Imaginary Boys debut.
